If you are reading this then you found a piece of my art.
Good for you!
I hope it made your day.
That is the idea behind this year-long project of mine.
I began with piece of driftwood or piece of fallen wood found where ever I camped. I would leave a small drawing on it for someone to find. I would leave it on a bench outside a cabin because I was grateful for the seat as I walked the river. I would leave one beside a sign on a trail, on a picnic bench or at a firepit on the beach.
It made me happy to think that another person; a camper, a child, a couple walking the beach, someone having a lousy day, or a great day would find my art and think it was significant enough to keep.
My life partner, husband, and sometimes perplexed supporter told me that I should document the pieces and I began to take pictures of them before taking them out to be "found."
Recently I discovered "found art.com", a website that was originally used by other artists like me to get feedback from people who found their art. I contacted the person in charge and she said it was no longer working, but that others were using blogs.
I thought it was a great idea and HAPPENSTANCE ART was started.
So, if you have found a piece, pictured on this blog, you may leave a comment or not.
You will find, however, a tidbit or two about the piece with the picture, if you look.
Also, there are links to my other artwork.
I plan to make one piece for this project every day for a year.
My mission is to make myself a more accomplished and determined artist, to try as many new techniques and styles as I can and to pass on a gift, freely and gratefully, to my fellow travellers on this globe. Who knows, it could help?!
